Understanding The Emerging Trends In Home Improvement!

Jun 16, 2017

Did you know that most homeowners funded their home improvement projects with savings? Now this can be an eye-opening trend in many ways. With due Infographic source credit to the builders west London team of Newline Construction, it is now known that people who funded these projects with savings were more in budget, as compared to those who relied on loans. What’s even interesting is the fact that homeowners are concerned about home improvement, which propelled most projects. In fact, only 42% of all people who participated in the survey were interested in repairs and maintenance in general.

The demand for contractors in the industry also continues to rise. Around 41% homeowners preferred to hire improvement contractor for their projects, while around 25% took up some form of DIY work, besides taking professional service. It is also a good trend that 85% homeowners invested in improvements with the purpose of selling it. Refurbished and well-maintained homes are going to attract buyers, and owners seemed to have recognized this aspect. Also, a good 46% of the projects were on budget, which indicates that owners are trying hard to cut costs and unnecessary spending that has contributed to better project management.

Stargazing Through a Roof Lantern

Jun 16, 2017

One of the major benefits of having a flat roof conservatory is that you have the potential to install a stunning roof lantern to add glamour and elegance to your property. There are many well-worn benefits about roof lanterns and skylights concerning the amount of extra light they can bring into a property, the calming influence and airiness that flows through the home as a result of their installation. These factors are all true, but one that is often overlooked is how relaxing it can be to sit at the right angle, with a roof lantern above you, and gaze up to the stars. There is no better way to chill out and relax with loved ones on a clear and starry night.

Stargazing for Relaxation – So many of us have bought in to the fast paced world around us. How many of you reading this take the time each day to slow down a little and look up rather than down? Around us as we walk the streets are grand buildings and designs, and above that the wonderful sky. At night when the skies are clear there is nothing better to help relaxation than to sit and stare at the stars. If you are lucky enough to have a roof lantern in an extension at your home, a carefully placed sofa or comfortable chair can be the perfect spot to lay back and look up at the stars. Stargazing is great for the soul, to switch off and for the all-important self-reflection that aids us all through life. Having a place to switch off from life and work for a few minutes or a few hours is great for your mental and physical health.

Choose High Quality Materials – If you have decided that stargazing is something you would love to do in the privacy of your own home, plus you fancy the extra light and air that a roof lantern can bring to a home, you should look to have one installed at your property. Always look to work alongside a roof lantern specialist that can provide not only high quality and long-lasting materials, but also a good installation service.

Clean Your Roof Lantern – If you do have a roof lantern installed at your property and you want to sit back and relax by staring up at the night sky, make sure it is properly and regularly cleaned so you can do so with no blurry sections or smudges on the windowpane! A clear roof lantern allows you to enjoy the view above your home whatever the weather and all year round. With stargazing in mind you wouldn’t want to miss a rare meteor shower (or just a rare clear night summer sky in the UK!).
